The Javelina Chase draws competitive and non-competitive cyclists each year to Duncan, Arizona, and Lordsburg, New Mexico, small towns that straddle the Arizona-New Mexico border in exceptionally scenic, historic country. Overseen by a volunteer committee and guided by USA Cycling, the Javelina Chase has grown from 24 participants in 2014 to more than 250 in 2018.
In 2019 "The Chase" will focus on mountain and gravel bike races on uniquely beautiful and challenging courses that our area offers. And the Duncan Wildcats PTA will bring back the kids' bike rodeo for anyone between the ages of 3 and 13.
Javelina Chase promotes safe cycling for all ages. We encourage the use of highways and trails in our area by cyclists, and we help welcome the many long-distance cyclists traversing the southern tier every year. We also use race proceeds to fund scholarships for two local graduating seniors each year. We hope to see you in 2019!
